Last Thursday, I began my second round of my Women’s WordPress for Ecommerce course for 1919. The course teaches women how to deploy, administer, and market their online storefronts using the WooCommerce plugin.

My students will all learn how to make the same website for the first half of the class, so that they all may encounter the same hurdles and solutions. During the second half, they will be equipped to handle making their own websites.

During the first day, I had them install WordPress the manual way– as in creating a database and uploading files through FTP. I did this so they can see how they accomplish what they would have paid a developer to do. Despite their lack of experience, they all succeeded in their installations.

I have high expectations of them.
